A brief background

Company profile

Quinn Physical Therapy P.A. opened its doors in downtown Destin in late 2002 as the realization of a dream of its owner/practioner John Quinn MSPT. The founding principles of the practice were to give quality, individualized, one-on-one, Physical Therapy to patients requiring care. The result was the establishment of a warm, friendly, family-owned, professional office, which has earned an excellent reputation with both patients and physicians.

Quinn Physical Therapy P.A. opened in a 900 square foot office in Harbor Square on Highway 98 in Destin in late fall 2002. John Quinn MSPT, its owner/practitioner ran all aspects of the practice as a one-man operation for the first six to seven months. At the end of that six month period the practice outgrew that small space and moved across the parking lot where it remains after almost ten years.

John Quinn MSPT began his practice from a unique perspective as a therapist; as he was on the receiving end of care prior to starting his professional career as a Physical Therapist. This gives him the ability to relate to patients at a level one may not fully understand if one has not had to experience orthopedic injury/surgery and the rehabilitation that follows. It is because of his experience that he began and set up his practice to make certain that when therapy is performed it is done so with care and is individualized to each patient.

Therefore, from the front desk, to our billing department, and especially our professional and knowledgeable staff, our practices main concern and first priority is the care and progress of our patients. Our goal is to make this treatment the best experience it can be from the Initial Evaluation to Discharge or as we call it, graduation.

For those patients who choose to participate, Quinn Physical Therapy PA offers a program for post-therapy patients to assist them to keep up their progress as well as to help keep them in better health through exercise. Each patient is set up on their own exercise plan formulated by their Physical Therapist which is individualized to both their strengths and weaknesses. These members are the largest part of what makes our practice special; that before mentioned warm, family feeling.

John Quinn MSPT

John spent 18 years in the construction field after graduating from Oceanside High School. After injuring his shoulder and attending Physical Therapy after a surgical repair, he decided Physical Therapy was a career to which he felt passionate. He attended Nassau Community College to complete his Associates Degree in Science and then was accepted to the College of Staten Island where he earned his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Physical Therapy in 1997. He worked in Mercy Medical Center’s Outpatient Physical Therapy until relocating to Niceville Florida in September of 1997. He worked in an outpatient office and home care for the next five years until in November of 2002; he realized his goal and opened the doors of his own practice. Within a year, he moved from an office of about 900 square feet to a larger facility across the parking lot of more than double the size where it remains today.

Aside from his busy practice, John is married to Mary, his wife of 20+ years and has three children with whom he spends the rest of his time. He has coached all three of his children in baseball and football for the better part of 10 years. He assists the Niceville Football Little League with the running of the fields and concessions on home game days. He is an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Niceville where he serves as Audio-visual minister, Past Grand Knight of Council 7227, serves on the Knight’s Pasta Dinner rotation, and was a past Pastoral Council Member.

  • Knowledge, Skill and an ability to provide personal service in a warm and friendly environment – that is what John Quinn provides. You cannot find a better place to recover your strength and maintain your strength than at Quinn Physical Therapy.

  • I have been a patient on and off for several years. Two hip replacements, open heart surgery, shoulder and neck problems. John Quinn and his entire knowledgeable staff do a great job of getting you back in shape

I would recommend the Quinn organization to all that need this type of help.

  • I have been sent by my doctors to at least three other Physical Therapy groups and have found Quinn's to be, by far the best for concentrated, caring help. A well-trained staff of professionals led by John himself has helped me immeasurably every time. I continue there with weekly maintenance, and they are always interested and ready to make sure what is best for your particular needs in the use of the excellent equipment.

And what's more, it is fun – even when you are recovering from an operation or the results of an accident.. I recommend it for serious help…as well as for everyday assistance with a personal exercise program.

  • Given the choice between surgery or Physical Therapy by the Surgeon, I chose the later. After an evaluation with John Quinn we felt a disciplined Physical Therapy approach would heal my frozen shoulder and surgery would not be necessary. He was correct. My shoulder feels great and works like new.
